This includes upgrading to energy-efficient appliances and equipment, such as HVAC systems and kitchen appliances, to reduce electricity usage. Our staff is trained to practice energy-saving measures, such as turning off lights and electronics when not in use and utilizing natural light whenever possible. Energy-Efficient Lighting:
Throughout our building, energy-efficient LED lighting illuminates our spaces, providing both ambiance and sustainability. LED lighting not only reduces energy consumption but also minimizes our carbon footprint, aligning with our commitment to environmental responsibility. We also have installed motion sensors in public areas and other low-traffic areas to ensure that energy is only used when needed, reducing wastage and further contributing to our energy-saving efforts.
Water Saving Initiatives:
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we've implemented a water-saving program that encourages guests to participate in our efforts. By simply hanging their towels for reuse, guests can contribute to significant water savings throughout their stay. This small action, multiplied across all our bedrooms, generates a substantial positive impact on water conservation.
Waste Management:
We have implemented a waste management program aimed at reducing waste generation and promoting recycling and composting. By responsibly managing our waste streams, we strive to minimize our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Transitioning away from plastic:
We have adopted a strict no single-use plastics policy to reduce plastic pollution and promote eco-friendly alternatives. Some of the initiatives we've implemented include:
• Shifting from plastic to 100% compostable container single-serving milk portions in guest rooms.
• Shifting from plastic to 100% compostable straws in all our restaurants.
• Transitioning to large refillable toiletry units to reduce plastic waste.
• Offering slippers without plastic packaging.
• Replacing plastic water bottles in meeting rooms with glass alternatives and transitioning to refill stations.
• Ban plastic water bottles for our staff, providing each team member with personalized reusable water bottles to eliminate the use of single-use plastics.
Electric Vehicle Charging:
Our hotel features state-of-the-art electric car chargers that are seamlessly integrated with renewable energy sources. By harnessing clean energy, we ensure that electric vehicles charging at our premises truly operate emissions-free, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment.
Food & Beverage Sustainability:
We are dedicated to reducing food waste throughout our operations, implementing strategies to minimize waste generation and optimize resource utilization.
Whenever possible, we prioritize sourcing from local suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation. Some of our meat, vegetables, herbs, and dairy products suppliers located within a 20-mile radius.
We’ve also shifted to fully compostable takeaway cups. So, whether you're enjoying your morning coffee on the go or savouring a beverage in our hotel, you can feel good knowing that your cup will leave a minimal environmental footprint.
